On November 27, "Xinhua Reporter Says" program aired a detailed video of the large-scale Tibetan culture epic drama "Princess Wencheng" (hereinafter referred to as the show). Following Xinhua News Agency's foreign reporter Jenny Ibanez, billions of audiences at home and abroad took a close look at a poverty alleviation miracle in Tibet and witnessed the critical battle against poverty which aims to "build a moderately prosperous society in all respects that benefits each and every ethnic minority group."

The production and run of the show has boosted cultural tourism industry. Local economy has thus developed, which has in turn helped to lift local villagers out of poverty. Ou Zhu, a 40-year-old villager of Cijuelin, is one of those who have benefited from the show. Nearly 70 yaks fed by Ou Zhu's family are "permanent actors" in "Princess Wencheng". Since its debut in 2013, he has begun to herd these yaks to "play their role" every night of the performing season. Such "animal actors" alone earn Ou Zhu over 23,000 yuan per month. Having worked seven years for "Princess Wencheng" has enabled Ou Zhu to add to his house one floor after another, his family enjoying better and better life.

Poverty alleviation should also be more about fostering ambition. "Princess Wencheng" has also adjusted the mentality of local villagers and improved their skills, thus consolidating poverty alleviation results. In 2013, Suo Lang became an extra in "Princess Wencheng". During the seven years, he was first a dancer in the show and then went on to play Gar Tongtsen Yulsung and a servant of Songtsan Gambo. Now he has finally secured a starring role in another show "Princess Jincheng". With ever-improving performing skills, he conquers one stage after another. And opportunities keep coming his way. Seeing him as a model, his brother has also embarked on an art journey.

The large-scale Tibetan culture epic drama "Princess Wencheng" is co-produced by Usunhome Cultural Tourism Co., Ltd. and Lhasa Potala Cultural Tourism Group. The show has been run with a sophisticated market-oriented approach and a carefully crafted comprehensive development plan for seven years since its official opening on August 1, 2013. Over time it has given birth to an entire cultural tourism industry chain driven by "innovation and creativity", with "cultural tourism performing arts" at its core. "Princess Wencheng" has become an iconic image of Tibet's tourism sector.
